Mary Howard is a retired British Airways employee who joined BOAC in 1972 and left BA in 2002. She worked on long haul as a Purser and subsequently in training and selection. Her staff number is 100247. She is generally a fit and active person of 79 yrs living near Bognor Regis, West Sussex.

Mary is currently in a rehabilitation ward at a hospital in Faro, Portugal, after suffering a stroke last Monday while on holiday in Albufeira with friends. Thankfully, she was treated swiftly and has already regained her mobility and speech and is expected to make a full recovery.

Everything is in hand regarding her travel insurance and arrangements for repatriation to the UK in approximately ten days, however, she will be spending at least another ten days on her own in a public ward, without speaking Portuguese. 
She has received family and friends support in Faro up to now but its not possible for them to stay on so I wondered whether there might be any retired BA colleagues living in Faro or the surrounding Algarve area who might be willing to visit her while she continues her rehabilitation.

It would be a great comfort to Mary to have some friendly company and to meet someone with a connection to her BA days during this difficult period away from home.
