Golf News October 2025 BA Club Golfers October Report. Another busy month.

BA Club V STRAWBERRY HILL GC LADIES SECTION
Our BA Club golfers returned to Strawberry Hill GC to play our annual match against the ladies section. This popular event is always fun and this year was no exception. The ladies are a wonderful bunch and they offer us a friendly welcome every year.

The match this year was in a Greensomes format with all players playing from the same tees but the ladies par adjusted. The Stableford points were added and the team with the highest score wins. Once again BA was triumphant beating the ladies 232 to 216 points. Our very own Clive Jones & Jeff Brister won the nearest the pin prize on hole 6. The ladies put on a delicious evening meal after the golf.

GERRARDS CROSS GC
The BA Club golf members returned to Gerrards Cross GC in October for their monthly day meeting. This is a top class course played in unusually good weather for the time of year. As expected, the course was in superb condition with some good scoring being achieved by many players.

In the end, Paul Lawrence won the event with a superb 42 points with Lincoln Dowe runner up on 41. The third place was held by Chris Walker with 40 points on countback so, as in previous meetings, we had a very competitive competition.

Following the golf and prize presentations the club served a delicious evening meal enjoyed by all who played.

BA Club V DELTA AIRLINES (AWAY)
Our BA Club team flew out to Atlanta to play our annual match against the Delta golf team. Our players are always given a true USA-style welcome and the matches are played in great sprit. This year BA were triumphant again and won the match 21 to 17. A great effort from the boys on foreign soil! The photo shows Delta Captain Sean Cunning presenting the match trophy to BA’s organiser Manjit Bains.

Part of the competition also includes a very welcome social side where the Americans and their spouses enjoy mixing with the BA players, sometimes opening up their homes for drinks and dinner as well.

The whole team would like to thank Delta and Sean for organising another fabulous tournament and we look forward to welcoming them back to London next year.

PAIRS KNOCKOUT
We can announce that this years Pairs Knockout Champions are John de Rebello & Rod Wesson. They beat John Dhaliwal & Surinder Kalsi 2&1 at Downshire GC. Congratulations to you both.

SINGLES KNOCKOUT
Our singles final this year was contested between Chris Walker (h/c 25) & Surinder Bahra (h/c 13). The match was played at Hanbury Manor GC and Surinder, playing very well, beat Chris 4&3. Congratulations Surinder on a great match.
