Get set! Goooo... on a 100km Relay!

The BA Athletics Club is hosting a 100-km Relay running event to celebrate the centenary of British Airways. This is being held on Thursday 26th September 2019 to coincide with National Fitness Day. The Relay will be held around the BA Head Office at Waterside, Harmondsworth on a 1km loop course over a 12-hour period, from 0700hrs to 1900hrs. Groups and individuals linked to the airline or Heathrow are invited to participate along with groups from across the airline.

Teams: Teams can be of between 10 and 100 participants. The more people you have in your team the less each person will need to run, e.g. if you have 100 people in your team, each person will only have to run 1-km. Each team will appoint their own team manager, provide own sustenance (food/drinks) and cover the 100-km within the 12 hours. To enter a team, please email with your Team Name and number of participants by 15th September (but please advise us as soon as you think you may be entering a team). Team managers will submit their team lists (name and distance intended to be covered by each person) one week before the event.

Individuals: Participation by individuals is welcome. Please email and tell us the distance you would like to cover and your approximate time for this, your availability during the 12 hours and what your link is to the airline, airport or area. We will try to place you in an appropriate team.

Entry Fee: Free entry, however we recommend a minimum donation of £5.00 per team, proceeds to be donated to White Lodge, a charity supported by the British Airways Athletics Club. Teams are welcomed to use the event to raise funds for their chosen charities should they wish to do so - BAAC will validate the distance covered. It is not a requirement of participation. In return for the free entry please note that there should be NO expectation of medals, T Shirts or other giveaways! Access (e.g. parking and availably of toilets) is a challenge yet to be overcome, but we are working on it and knowing numbers will help with the solution! Participation will be entirely at own risk though at minimum there will be Health&Safety reps on hand.

Support staff are also welcome.

Course: 1km loop to be manned by volunteers from the Athletics Club for the duration of the event.
