Silver Wing sailors at Salcombe regatta 2007
At least 23 sailors from the sailing section competed in the 2007 Salcome Yacht Club regatta, entering 13 boats in 4 classes.
Peter and Alicia Bennett lead Peter Jackson and Julie Bennett on the beat to the Finishing Line from Blackstone mark, with a helping flood tide.
Once again we made our anual trek to Salcombe to compete in the Salcombe Yacht Club Regatta held August 4th-9th - an event that we have been attending for as long as anyone can remember. The biggest contingency was in the Enterprise class where we entered more than one third of the fleet, 8 out of 21 boats, this was won by Pete Jackson and Julie Bennett.
We were also represented by John Peck and Eric Wade in the Laser class, while the legendary Dayboat made its anual outing in the handicap fleet in the hands of Brian Rouse and Ana Biggs (with support from Frank Kay), alongside our Commodore's Megabyte, which disgraced itself by sinking before it reached its first start line. Finaly Nancy Jackson and Rob Mariott forsook the Enterprises for a spin in the RS200 fleet.
Three of our number have remined to compete in the Salcombe Town regatta.
