About

If you could create the perfect rugby club, what would it look like?

I guess you would start off with a world class pitch and facilities - the sort that regularly attracts professional clubs and international teams to play on.
Then you would want consistently competitive rugby with a team that's going places.A great bunch of lads around you would go without saying - the sort of team that always wins the most social team in every tournament it plays in!Touring holds a special place in rugby - but could you imagine a club whose passport stamps include Argentina, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Thailand, Cayman Islands, Malaysia, USA as well as regular European stops over the last five years alone?!?A club that could attract the Rugby World Cup-winning captain to be guest of honour at their Player awards dinner, that could persuade the Sky Rugby Club to do a special show on the club's season....Does this all sound too good to be true?? What if we told you that this club was local to you and actively welcoming new members?? So why not come down and find out more for yourself at...British Airways RFCProbably the world's greatest rugby club

Club History

British Airways Rugby Football Club has a wealth of history going back as far as 1950. In the season of 1950/51, the team were up against the likes of the Met Police, Harlequins and Richmond.

Their ground was still based in Heston, but their facilities were a little less sophisticated consisting of wooden shacks and no showers.

They also toured back then with the most memorable being the tours to Bristol and Luton in 1952/53 and the end of season tour to Jersey. They took part in the ASCA tournament where they played the likes of Air Lingus, KLM and Air France.

In 1954, BEA & BOAC joined forces only to split away again before permenantly merging in the 1976/77 season. During the late 70's and early 80's they were at their strongest when they were regularly fielding 5 strong teams.

The club regularly undetakes long haul tours and can now say that it has played on every continent, some on several occasions.
