About: The Rifle & Pistol section

The activities of the Rifle and Pistol Section at the Concorde Club Range fall into the following categories:

 

Target Air Pistol & Air Rifle.

Small Bore (.22) Target Rifle.

Gallery Rifle, both Small Bore and Full Bore.

Muzzle Loading (Black Powder) Pistol and Revolver.

 

Clubroom / Range location.

The Range is located at the Concorde Club, in Crane Lodge Road, Cranford. The Section Room / Range entrance is next to the Hard Surface Tennis courts, The entrance door is under the metal staircase leading to the Tennis section clubroom. A bell push is provided to gain entry if the door is shut.

 

Main section range times are:

Mon. Evenings (15:30 - 22:00)                Gallery Rifle

Tues. Evenings (16:30 - 19:00)                Air Pistol *

Weds. Evenings (16:30 - 19:30)               .22 Prone Rifle

Thurs. Evenings (18:00 - 20:30)               Gallery Rifle

Fri. Mornings (10:00 - 12:00)                    Gallery Rifle

Sat. Afternoons (13:00 - 17:00)                .22 prone Rifle *

Sun. Mornings (10:00 - 12:30)                  Muzzle Loading Pistol *

The Range is in use at other times but it is suggested that for new members, come along on a Thursday evening and make yourself known to one of the Range crew. Every FIRST THURSDAY of the month is our Guest Evening, where prospective members may come along and ‘have a go’.

 

The Rifle and Pistol Section also utilises the Ranges at Bisley, where Full Bore / Long Range target rifle may be shot on certain dates in the year.

 

Note: Following legislation in 1997, metallic cartridge handgun target shooting no longer exists in this country as a sporting activity.
