About
The badminton club have three club nights a week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 7:00pm and 10:30pm at the Concorde Club. During the Badminton season (September-April) Monday nights are used for matches only. The evenings run on a peg board system so you get a mix of people to play with around your ability level. The club caters for players of all abilities from beginner to advanced and for those competitive players we currently have 10 teams in local leagues.
There are several tournaments (competitive and friendly) each year, held either here or overseas, which all members can take part in (British Airways staff will have one free flight per year to use on one of these tournaments). During the summer months ( May-August), if demand is high enough there is usually coaching available on a Monday night.
To join the club, there is a one off joining fee of £15 and then an annual subscription of £60. If you would like to try the club out, you can come along for up to 3 visits and pay £5.00 per visit. If you then decide to join, any money paid is deducted from the joining fee.
You must be a member of BA clubs to join the section, but once a member you can bring along non BA clubs members as guests. The guest fee is £5.00 per visit.

Where do you play?
The club is located in the hall next to the gym, at the Concorde Club, in Cranford Lane, Heston.
Do you cater for beginners?
The club is split into bands depending on ability, which range from complete beginner to county level standard. This means you have the opportunity to play with people of your own standard, or slightly better to improve your game. Subject to demand we do run coaching in summer.
Do I need my own equipment?
We will provide the nets & shuttles but you will need your own racquet. Please also make sure you are wearing white soled trainers.
Can children join?
Yes, though for children under the age of 16 this is at the committee's discretion, depending on standard of play and general behaviour of the child.
What do you offer for competitive players?
We currently enter 10 teams into leagues around the area, such as Middlesex, Hillingdon and Hounslow. The teams are entered according to ability so there is usually a team suitable for all those wanting to play competitively. We also run several in house tournaments a year and take part in a few overseas tournaments run by other airlines.
